Item Description
The first thing that sets this button apart is its 1.75" size. Most typically the button is seen as a 7/8" or 1.25" made by Whitehead & Hoag. This button however features an open back with fixed horizontal brass pin and the earliest known paper from "St. Louis Button Co., St. Louis, Mo." Light tanning on the paper and an old inked price at the top. The button surface is a little uneven to the touch but not badly dented and still with full gloss. Couple gray pinpoint marks to the right of TR's ear. Only example we can recall offering. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
