Auction #212 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 988 in auction 212
Item Description
1.75" with Bastian back paper. Hake #47. Also see two related Bryan items in this series #192-193. This example has a long but extremely light 1-1/8" vertical hairline scratch that crosses the right side of Taft's cheek. In addition there are a pair of horizontal hairlines near the bottom of the shield that aren't really scratches but more hairline impressions in the button paper. All three lines are really noted for total accuracy as they show just in reflected light. The button is perfectly centered and totally clean with nice gloss. Hake #47 with 2004 Guide value of $676.00. Displays Mint. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
