Item Description
The two smaller buttons each with a ribbon and cello elephant hanger are each 1.25". The top one has a small tear on the ribbon edge but both buttons are NM displaying Mint. Of the seven large buttons all but the pair in row three are 3.5" while those two are 4". The first of these is a rarity but with many dark brown age marks. This has a cardboard back and double strand wire clip along with name of Syracuse maker Bainbridge. The second 4" button is a litho with just a tiny dent above one eyebrow caused by the reverse bar pin and a gray line beneath his nose extending to the left about 2". The only other large button with damage is the second in row two which as rather extensive long scratches but still displays cleanly. The undamaged buttons begin with the first in row one which is a quite rare real photo button without dot pattern. Beneath the eagle at right is the name of New York maker "Pat Gogerty Campaign Supply." Some light scattered rubs in reflected light but still with full gloss and displaying Mint. There is also a Gogerty paper sticker on the reverse. Second button in row one is also a high quality photo button. No maker name on this one. Pair of eagles on the sides, same as with the first and following, indicating use in New York state. Third item with "Our Next President" slogan has pair of larger eagles right and left. This button has a dot screen with name of NYC maker on curl Spiegel Novelty Co. This button is NM displaying Mint. Last is a 3.5" anti-Roosevelt slogan button reading "Don't Be A Jackass Follow The Eagle." Exc. and displays Mint. A nice group with several rarities.
