Item Description
Original illustrated box contains 10.75" tall tin litho toy w/built-in key on back. Marx, c. 1928. Box features great cartoon illustrations of toy w/several different faces being made. Box is missing two inner flaps but all else remains intact. 1" tear at bottom front center. Bottom lid flap has 2.5" tear. VG overall. Toy design has a stunning likeness to silent film comedian Harold Lloyd and features separate tin litho face plate and pair of arms, which hold a small wire cane. Toy works and rocks back and forth as it moves about. The separate face panel moves up and down so it appears as if he is smiling. Toy has scattered paint rubs on body from arms but not that noticeable when covered by arms. Face plate has a few small spots of wear w/paint nicks/scratches. Bare metal at tops of separate attached arms. Overall toy still has a bright and glossy appearance. Fine.
