Item Description
The grips on these knives measure between 2.5” and 5” long. Group begins with one having identical high relief images on each side. Shown full figure is “Columbus.” Exposition name is not mentioned but manufacturing style certainly indicates 1893 era. Blade base reads “Dixon Cutlery Co/Germany.” Excellent. Next has aluminum grips with front reading “Exposition Universelle/Paris 1900.” Opposite side has floral designs. The one knife blade is quite worn down while the other blade is a scissors. Some small pitting of the metal on left end of front grip. Rest is clean. Next in aluminum has one side showing “Palace Of Machinery World’s Fair St. Louis 1904.” Opposite side shows monument with text “Louisiana Purchase Monument.” Small luster loss on the moveable loop on one end. Blade base includes “Solingen/Germany.” Next is “New York World’s Fair” knife which comes with its original cardboard holder. Base of one blade reads “Syracuse Knife Company.” Tiniest traces of wear but NM and with just a few light minor creases on the card. Next with a very similar design but in a larger size is knife with front grip “New York World’s Fair.” Base of one blade reads “Kent/N.Y. City/U.S.A.” NM displaying Mint. Last is a large knife with marbleized grips and a metal plate on one side reading “Fish-Knife.” Incised text on front grip reads “New York World’s Fair.” Blade base reads “Colonial/Prov. R.I.” Few oxidation dots on one side of the large blade and the front grip has a hairline crack about ¼” in from the small end. The same small crack appears on the opposite side. These occurred because there is a rivet in this area. Overall Fine.
