Item Description
Superbly colored 1.25” with clock hands pointing to the numerals symbolic of Bryan’s position on the ratio of silver to gold coinage. Design is about 1/32” off center so more of the rwb rim edge shows on the top and right with almost none showing on the bottom and left. This slight off centering is a very typical feature of this button and we don’t recall seeing any that are truly perfectly centered. The button is totally clean and glossy. The overall condition is superb and superior to most examples. The button is essentially Mint as made and complete with its Baltimore Badge back paper which just has the slightest age tone. This scarce button carries a $1,000 value in Hake’s 2004 revised prices. A most reasonable opening bid. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
