Item Description
These are 1.25” with exception of 1.75” and 2.25” in bottom row. All have the Brunt back paper with the exception of row 1 #2, likely by them, but no paper and row 2 #3 which has W&H paper but issued for a 1910 Rose Carnival in San Jose. Many wonderful designs for fruit and vegetable carnivals and shows plus two that depict the state symbol bear and a great button as row 2 #1 showing a pair of shaking hands at the opening of the “Twin Peaks Tunnel.” The shirt cuffs of the hands are inscribed “Outlying Districts” and “Downtown Districts.” There is one duplicate in the group and that is row 3 #1 and #2 are identical. Although difficult to see because of the green on green design, each of these shows a figure representing Santa Claus at a chimney top with tiny illustrations of toys plus reindeer although the Santa figure appears to be more of an Irish man in a hat and with pipe in mouth. The largest button for the “Opening Yuba River Bridge” has slightly concave surface and just a touch of age but still quite nice. Couple others may have a random pinpoint dot or two but for the most part these are Exc. to Mint, many rarities with great color and design.
