Auction #216 - Part I
Item numbers 1 through 977 in auction 216
Item Description
4x8" embossed woven paper. Striking design featuring a gilt embossed eagle perched on an American flag over a highly filigreed oval frame with silhouette of Taylor captioned "President Zachary Taylor Born In 1784 Died July 9th 1850". Additional text at bottom features Taylor's last words. A welcome departure from typical mourning ribbons usually lacking the vibrant color and display elements found here. Tiny hole at top center and very faint light brown toning blending into the cream background most noticeable along right hand side and not detracting from the overall dazzling display. Fine.
