Item Description
First is a group of 23 buttons dated between 1925-1955, each a 2.75" oval designed as a figural football. These all name the high school Bay View. In the top row, button from 1929 showing "Captain Jack" has heavily oxidized reverse and some stain on the front but blending well. First button in row 2 is covered in craze lines and a few of the others throughout the lot have some small traces of stain but nothing that detracts greatly. This remarkable single school collection spans 30 years. Second group of high school buttons (perhaps with a college or two mixed in) consists of 15 large buttons with brass figural football hangers plus two without. Oval buttons are 2-3/8" wide while the circular buttons are mostly 2.5". Footballs, some showing a player running with the ball have very nice luster. Only a couple with some age (one in row 1 and three in bottom row) with vast majority being clean and glossy. The two items in row 2 are missing their suspensions. One button carries 1934 date. One reads "Beat Villa/Nova" which could represent the college. These two groups took decades to assemble and both are from the Paul Muchinsky Collection.
