Item Description
Lot of eight foreign comic books printed 1943-1950, ranging in size from 7x8.75" to 8-7/8x12". Two smaller books - "Wow Comics" #55 (featuring Mary Marvel) and "Captain Marvel Jr." #50 - were printed in England by L. Miller & Son Ltd. The remaining six were published in Australia by Larry Cleland Pty. Ltd. Issues include - "Captain Marvel Adventures" #30, 34, 49; "Whiz Comics" #13; "Captain Marvel Jr." #41 and 44. All are Fawcett reprints. British "Wow Comics" has bw and three-color contents. Varying degrees of handling w/mild to moderate aging. VG/VF overall. All are scarce. From the collection of Chip Kidd, renowned author, graphic designer and pop culture enthusiast extraordinaire and four are the photo examples from his book "Shazam!: The Golden Age Of The World's Mightiest Mortal."
