Item Description
1-11/16" in sepia and without dot pattern. Reverse has over 95% silvering and trivial oxidation on the collet. Image shows pitch fork and horse stall at far right while at center a black farm hand in boots, patched overalls and straw hat urinates through a knot hole in a board fence and expresses great pain on his face as a goose shown faintly at lower left has attacked. Also at far left background is faint illustration of a building with woman in foreground throwing feed to poultry. Couple of very light age marks on lower right near the edge and some scattered but tiny hairline scratches on the celluloid surface that catch reflected light but overall the piece displays extremely well and with nice gloss. This type of scene was a fairly standard depiction in the early 1900s but this mirror is the first example we've seen in this extremely realistic cartoon style of drawing. Rare.
