Item Description
First is 1.25" with W&H back paper used only 1898-1900. Button artwork was inspired by the first modern Olympics in 1896 and displays a runner holding up a laurel branch. Text is simply "Pierce Cycles." Pinpoint sized indent on the reverse collet but rest is glossy and NM displaying Mint. Second is a rare button for an early cyclist who later died while motorcycle racing. 1.25" missing an 1897 W&H back paper. Button features front view of rider with surrounding text "Archie Le Jeal On A Quaker Wheel/Jacob Roth 1018 State St. Erie, Pa." He later became a motorcycle racer and died July 4, 1915 at the Erie County Corry Driving Park. Small denting of the tin reverse but the celluloid itself is NM displaying Mint. Only the second we've seen. Last is a beautiful color oval stickpin with woman on bicycle holding aloft in her hand the "New Departure Coaster Break." Cello is 1" and stickpin is 2.25". Minor loss of brass flashing off the reverse but the front is NM displaying Mint. Three nice pieces.
