Item Description
8.5" tall plaster figure features great full body depiction of Olive Oyl. 1930s. Scattered small paint flakes, but still Fine/VF overall. Popeye was a very popular carnival prize and many were produced in a variety of styles, poses and sizes. Statue of other Popeye characters like Wimpy and Alice the Goon (see item #1934) are much less common and Olive Oyl is among the rarest. Only the second Olive Oyl carnival statue we've offered in our 49 years and the first example we've offered of this style. See matching Sea Hag statue (item #1933). Eric Renner Collection and the example shown on page 122 of his book "American Disguise."
