Item Description
1.25" w/W&H back paper. Button in gilt frame w/ribbons attached under spring pin on reverse. Ribbons read "Appomattox Day 1865-1915" and "Waukesha April 9." Produced for the 50th anniversary celebration of Gen. Lee's surrender to Gen. Grant effectively ending the Civil War. Trivial soiling on ribbons and a tiny 1/8" scratch at center of button seen in reflected light. NM. Scarce. The finest example we have encountered.
