Item Description
2-1/8" photo without dot screen. About 75% remains of W&H back paper but what is left has magic tape over it. Spring pin holds ribbon joined to large tin figural football with minor paint wear. Football is early 1900s but may not be original to this button which we feel is closer to 1900 than 1912. Posing are 27 young men, most in uniform and with several leather helmets in foreground. Mixed among the white players are a black player in front row and another in row 2. To the right is a wire fence with numerous spectators in the roof covered bleacher seats. We do not see anything that identifies the group. Only the third early 1900s button we've seen with an integrated team. Exc and displays Mint.
