Item Description
18" long tin litho with unusual pull screw-type mechanism by Elenee Toys Inc. 1940s. This toy is a faithful reproduction of the 1947-1949 Freedom Train that toured the country after WWII. This train carried original versions of our Constitution, Declaration of Indepedence and the Bill of Rights among other exhibits. Has moderate wear and aging along sides, small nicks and scratches, some paint loss on sides probably due to over zealous cleaning. Lithography on train includes images of engineers and brakeman, image of Statue of Liberty's hand with torch, shield containing "A Salute To The Freedom Train" with list of our freedom of choices. Working and Fine. Scarce.
