3.5x5.25" vintage matte postcard depicting 10 team members in full uniform along w/one gentleman dressed in formal attire (Al P. Gibbs, Originator & Owner) and a youngster also dressed in uniform, surely the club's batboy. Along right border on front is the team identification " 'St. Louis Stars' Ladies' Base Ball Club" located at "The Bill Board" in Cincinnati, Ohio. Also present are two swastika symbols, more than twenty years before they would become the logo for the German Nazis. Divided back of postcard includes a pre-written message from the team on left w/addressee information on right. Credit for the postcard goes to Brand & Kochendorfer of Columbus, OH. Postcard has been postmarked with April 23, 1908 date. Visible scattered horizontal creases across but team image remains bold and distinct. Good. Richard Merkin Collection.
