Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage silver gelatin real photo postcard depicting a total of 20 ballplayers in full uniform along w/two gentlemen in military uniforms posed in front of a tent w/baseball equipment in the foreground. Team identification at bottom on front reads "1st Infantry Baseball Team Schofield Barracks 1912." on bottom w/ number "77" in white designated below the first person sitting in the front on the left. Ball club was stationed in Hawaii just a few years before the United States would enter World War I. Divided postcard back remains blank and unused. AZO stamp box dates card to 1904-18. A few indents visible on front center of postcard w/thumbtack puncture left of center visible in reflected light along w/staining on back, primarily in the upper right-hand corner. Fine.
