Item Description
3.5x5.5" vintage matte real photo postcard depicting former MLB player Billy Sunday. Facsimile signature on front along bottom border w/"copyright 1912" and photographer's credit reading "H.A. Lorberg Pub.". Billy Sunday played eight seasons of professional baseball as an outfielder for Chicago, Pittsburgh & Philadelphia from 1883-90. However, Billy is best remembered for being a prominent Evangelist at the turn of the Century, traveling the country and speaking in front of countless Americans. Handwritten notation on back "Mr. Billie Sunday". Divided postcard back remains blank and unused. Lt. even corner wear w/creasing and lt. toning around the edges. VF. Richard Merkin Collection.
