Item Description
Single-sided 7-7/8x19" paper window sign for original release of the classic 1933 RKO directed and produced by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack and starring Fay Wray, Robert Armstrong and Bruce Cabot. Photo of Wray at top right, beside large "Love" and Beauty" text. Center has bold "King Kong Is Loose!" text w/larger image of scantily-clad Wray recoiling in fright above imprint for Jefferson Theatre of Punxsutawney, PA (dated just three weeks after the film's premiere). Lower right has partial label w/showing information, but label shows obvious wear w/over 50% missing. Small hole to sign in this area. Horizontal fold at center w/another faint line below this. Margins have scattered dust soiling and upper right corner has .75" sliver off. Top center has archival tape repairs on back to .75" tear and 1.75" tear at center right. Bottom center has 1.5" tear. VG. Rare and only example of this historic piece we've seen in our 58 years. A true rarity for the King Kong collector.
