Item Description
Pair of full issues of The New York Times (Late City Editions) newspaper, issued Sunday, Feb. 26 and Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1933. Both issues feature different pre-release advertisements for the original release of the 1933 RKO film King Kong (which premiered in New York City March 2, 1933 before premiering nationwide on April 7, 1933). Sunday edition showcases 6x6" block ad w/illustration of King Kong hefting car into the air as crowds flee and notes "King Kong Is Coming!" Tuesday edition features 6x7.25" ad block showing just Kong's feet w/"He's Loose! He's Coming! ... Kong!" Both ads note New York premiere at Radio City Music Hall and Radio City New Roxy theaters. Both newspapers have binding holes along left margins as once bound, but o/w both show little to no wear and are in amazing shape for 82 year old newspapers.
