2.375x2.875". Issued continuously from 1934 to 1936, the National Chicle Diamond Stars (R327) set consists of 108 cards. Each card features a color art rendering of a player photograph, usually "in action," along with his name. The precise year of issue is deciphered by player statistics printed on the reverse - which also display a biography or big league tip - which is printed on a green or blue background.

Pepper Martin began his Major League career with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1928 and was an esteemed member of the famous "Gas House Gang" of the 1930s. Martin was a four time National League All-Star and finished in the top 10 in NL MVP voting twice. Martin finished with a lifetime batting average of .298 along with 756 runs scored and 146 stolen bases.
