Item Description
2.5 x 3.5". The 1960 Leaf Baseball consists of 144 cards. Distributed by Leaf in bags of Sports Novelties, Inc. marbles, the cards bear a black-and-white photograph of a player with his name appearing below against a white border in bold black letters, with his team and position appearing in smaller type under his name.
Brooks Robinson played his entire 23-year MLB career w/the Baltimore Orioles (1955-1977), which still stands as the record for the longest career spent w/a single team in MLB history (tied w/Carl Yastrzemski). Nicknamed "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" or "Mr. Hoover," he is considered the greatest defensive third baseman in MLB history. An 18 time All-Star, two time World Series champ (1966, 1970) and 1970 World Series MVP, he won 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards during his career. Robinson was elected to the Baseball HOF in 1983. The autograph is distinct and well placed at the bottom of the card without impeding the image.
This signed copy is the only example graded by PSA at this level with only one other ever graded higher.
