From the 2-1/8" Yankees team series. No maker. A young Martin is shown in his New York Yankees cap, he played for the team 1950-53, 1955-57 as well as being the team's manager multiple times from 1975 to 1988. Trace of tan staining on rim curl w/only a few tan spots on the button surface itself along the left edge. Trace of surface wear seen in reflected light. Appearance remains glossy. Fine. Alfred Manuel Martin Jr. , commonly called "Billy", was an American Major League Baseball second baseman for seven teams from 1950-61 and a manager for five different teams from 1969-88. Some career highlights include an All-Star selection in 1956 and a five time World Series Champion, four times as a player and once as a manager. His number has been retired by the Yankees and he has been enshrined in the Yankees Monument Park.
