Large and impressive 35.5x52" custom frame contains hand-crafted cover recreation of Batman #251 (September 1973), featuring one of the most iconic Joker and Batman images. Art is by Matthew DiMasi, known for his "Shattered" cover recreations using shattered ceramic tiles to recreate famous comic book covers, w/Marvel using his mosaic art as actual variant covers for some of their comics. This DC mosaic recreates Neal Adams's original cover, featuring a giant sized  Joker standing over Gotham holding the Ace of Spades card with Batman strapped to it. DiMasi's initials appear in tile pieces at top right and Neal Adam's full name at lower right. Framed piece has depth of 2" and features glossy ceramic tile pieces that have been mounted in sanded grout on wooden tile board. Glossy frame has been painted w/base coat/clear coat car paint. Top left has been boldly signed in silver paint pen by Adams himself. Signed/dated on back by DiMasi in 2019. Upper left corner has small chipped spot but rest of frame shows lt. wear and piece is o/w Exc. Given the size and materials used to create this piece, it is very heavy.
