Item Description
7/8” to 1.5”. The first eight buttons have back papers of hometown button maker Bastian. The final four “Orphans’ Outing” buttons have horizontal bar pin backs w/Bastian name on the curl. There are six Rochester Auto Show buttons w/four dated between 1908 and 1928. The 1928 has .25” crimping error on curl at 6-7 o’clock. The highlight of these six is the first which has no year, but which shows color art nouveau influenced poster for the “2nd Annual Auto Show/The Real Show”. Second group of four are for “Annual Orphans’ Outing” sponsored by “Automobile Club of Rochester”. These are dated for 1925, 1929, 1930, and the last for 1932 w/extensive cello crazing. Last with Bastian papers used 1907-1920 are for auto makers. The 1.25” is for “Pilot The Car Ahead” made by Almy Auto Co. Distributors and “The Selden Car/A Home Product”. This has tiny crimping bump on curl at 6 o’clock. All glossy, clean, and Exc. w/exceptions noted. Both Pilot and Selden are rare buttons as is the color button for 2nd Annual Show.
