1.25” real photo button w/name of maker on lower edge St. Louis Button Co. The reverse spring pin holds 1.5” American flag accent ribbon. Issued c. 1909 during the controversy over Cook’s and Commander Richard Perry’s mutual claims of reaching the Pole first.
