Item Description
19-3/8x22.5" double-mat w/13-7/8x17" opening showcasing mixed media original art for cover to the April 1950 issue of Police Detective Cases, published by Magazine Village, Inc. Art is by prolific pin-up and pulp magazine artist Peter Driben (1903-1968), noted for his extensive catalog of pin-ups and magazine covers published from the 1930s through the 1950s. Art is for "Exposing The Dope Rackets! They Trade In Human Souls!" cover story, showing beret-wearing blonde smoking a cigarette while caressing the arm of a policeman who attempts to roust her w/his baton. Art has a few strips of tape staining along margins as matted, but these blend for the most part and art displays Exc. Ready for framing. Comes w/reading copy of the magazine this art was produced for.
