Item Description
9x12" softcover program for Texas Governor John Connally's second inauguration, Jan. 25-26, 1965. Comes w/"Democratic Victory Dinner" program from Jan. 25 which shows obvious wear at top/bottom and just comes along. Cover of program has been signed in blue ink by Governor John Connally (1917-1993) and his wife, Texas First Lady Nellie Connally (1919-2006); both Gov. and Mrs. Connally were passengers in the Presidential limo carrying President John F. Kennedy when he was assassinated in Dallas, TX on Nov. 22, 1963. Cover has also been signed in blue ink by Bonanza star Dan Blocker (1928-1972) and NASA astronaut (and the second person and first American to travel into space) Alan Shepard (1923-1998) in black felt tip pen. Both Blocker and Shepard were likely celebrity guest attendees of the inauguration. Cover has two spots of moisture staining and some scattered dust soiling. Fine overall. Comes w/JSA LOA.
