Item Description
3.5x5-5/8”. Ornately designed commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the 1894-96 Orioles, the first true dynasty in professional baseball, taking the National League pennant three consecutive seasons. Managed by the incomparable future National Baseball Hall of Famer Ned Hanlon, this incredible team boasted six future HOF players during the 1894 season: Dan Brouthers, Willie Keeler, Joe Kelley, John McGraw, Hugh Jennings and Wilbert Robinson. All six would remain w/the Orioles through the 1895 season w/only Brouthers leaving prior to 1906. Team photo, bottom center has Maryland crest. Player identifications are as follows: Top Row (L-R) Quinn, McMahon, Esper, Hemming, Bowerman, Clarke, Donnelly; Middle Row (L-R) Brodie, Hoffer, Kelley, Hanlon, Robinson, Jennings, Reitz; Bottom Row (L-R) Doyle, McGraw, Keeler, Pond. Handwritten date in lower right-hand corner on front “10/18/07”. Back is used w/postmark of 1907, accounting for overall grade. Image remains strong and distinct and card still presents nicely.
