Item Description
The Star Wars Holiday Special was originally broadcast on CBS Nov. 17, 1978. Set between the first Star Wars film and the then yet-to-be-released sequel The Empire Strikes Back, it saw the main cast reprise their roles to film new content. The special also featured an animated segment produced by the nascent animation studio Nelvana of Toronto, Canada. The 10-minute cartoon was entitled "The Faithful Wookie," and served as an introduction to the popular bounty hunter Boba Fett. Offered here is an original production animation original art lead/blue pencil drawing on 10.5x13" sheet of animation paper. Image area measures 7.25x8" and shows Boba Fett from the chest up w/jetpack and Wookiee braids as he appeared in the special, w/his hands raised in front of him. Bottom of this has handwritten "15/4 BB-7" pencil notations. Sheet is lightly aged, but art remains clean and Exc. Great example from the segment that introduced one of Star Wars' most enduring and popular characters. An absolute must for any serious Star Wars collector or Boba Fett fan. Ross Pender Bounty Hunter Collection.
