8.25x12.75x3" deep box contains Seiberling Latex Products Co. set No. 2951, issued in 1934. Various size sets/configurations were issued (including a separate boxed Big Bad Wolf figure), this set consisted of just the Three Pigs, all of which remain in die-cut box insert at issued. Box has stamped set number on side and shows moderate wear w/lower left corner of lid missing .5x1-1/8" edge piece and having 1.25" split to center of top tide panel of lid. Scattered wear to lid surface paper and denting to side on box bottom. Box is VG overall, but still a displayable example w/choice lid art. Pigs are each approx. 6" tall. All of the figures were very susceptible to wear and aging due to their fragile nature and many are found collapsed and/or severely distorted. Fiddler Pig shows minor distortion and has two small chips to underside of snout. Fine for this figure. Fifer Pig shows just slight distortion (mainly just spots of flattening on back) and is VF for this figure. Practical Pig's body was not painted as made (face was painted) and is severely distorted/flattened. Just Good. Each figure's separate head still moves somewhat. Comes w/original string used to secure figures within box. Rare and one of the few sets we have been able to offer in our 58 years. Box is also rare. Thom Carchedi Collection.
