This is the original premium issue, not one of the later replicas that followed in the 1990s and beyond. This large brass plated white metal ring has a circular expansion band with an ornate design (see next lot for band variety).  It joins to an oval top w/a large inset plastic stone which has a beveled edge. This design matches the now iconic ring worn by Barnabas in the Dark Shadow TV series, which is seen on his hand from his debut on the show. It serves as a key piece throughout the series. Comes w/5.5x6" waxed paper wrapper for the Topps "2nd Series" of cards issueD in 1969 and ©Dan Curtis Prod. Inc. Wrapper has image of the Collinwood Mansion at center, right margin has ring offer w/image of Barnabas and the ring which was available for 50¢ and five wrappers. Wrapper has scattered lt. creases as originally folded but remains clean and VF. Scattered tiny traces of luster wear but most bright luster remains. Stone has trace of surface wear seen upon close inspection but remains glossy. VF. Rare. A must have for the fan of this classic American Gothic soap opera. Robert M. Overstreet Ring Collection.
