The 1961 Topps Baseball set consists of 587 cards.  With the exception of some of the specialty cards, Topps returned to a vertical format with their 1961 cards, which bear a large color photograph of the player on each card's front, with his name and team affiliation printed across the bottom.  

Brooks Robinson played his entire 23-year MLB career w/the Baltimore Orioles (1955-1977), which still stands as the record for the longest career spent w/a single team in MLB history (tied w/Carl Yastrzemski). Nicknamed "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" or "Mr. Hoover," he is considered the greatest defensive third baseman in MLB history. An 18 time All-Star, two time World Series champ (1966, 1970) and 1970 World Series MVP, he won 16 consecutive Gold Glove Awards during his career. Robinson was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1983. The autograph is distinct and well placed at the bottom of the card without impeding the image.
