Item Description
First is 1” w/partially seen name A.A. Patrick on the curl but half the lettering is below the collet. Front pictures flying young boy in red cape and hat holding a milk bottle. Rim text is “Stronglad Says 'Milk Tastes Better'.’” Obviously this 1940s milk company sought to avoid a Superman licensing fee. Light age on white areas but still full gloss. Their scheme avoided legal action because the second button, a 1.25” no maker, is from later in 1958. Again “Stronglad” is flying w/milk bottle in hand, but now only his cape is red and he sports an “S” on his chest. The words “Pinta Club” come from the Australian Milk Marketing Board ‘s 1958 slogan “Drinka Pinta Milka Day.” Exc. Both Rare.
