Item Description
7/8", no maker, w/tin reverse and short stickpin. Front text  reads "Remember The Legations/'To H--- With The Chinese!'" An animated stereotyped Chinese man is posed depicted w/flying pigtails and long dagger-like fingernails. The text refers to the two-month siege, during December of 1900, in Peking by the Boxers (a Chinese group opposed to foreign influences and exploitation)  of the diplomatic missions of the European nations, the United States and Japan. At the end of the 'Boxer Rebellion,' China was forced to accept humiliating concessions and punitive reparations. One of a very few buttons related to this event.  Couple tiny age dots on extreme rim edge, largely just visible under magnification.
