Item Description
2-1/8x3-1/8". The 1946-47 Propagandas Montiel series consists of 180 cards depicting athletes, including baseball players and boxers. Card fronts feature bw photos while backs have bios along w/advertising for Cuban stores. An album was issued in conjunction w/this card set, thus accounting for many examples found in lesser condition due to paper loss from album removal.

Medwick played w/the St. Louis Cardinals during the "Gashouse Gang" era of the 1930s, he also played w/the Brooklyn Dodgers 1940-43 and 1946, New York Giants 1943-45 and Boston Braves 1945. He was a 10-time All-Star (1934-42, 1944), 1934 World Series champ and NL MVP 1937. Medwick is the last NL player to win the Batting Triple Crown Award (1937). He was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1968.
