Item Description
3.5x5.5". Very scarce postcard series depicting 25 top baseball stars of the day utilizing beautiful black and white photographic images with thick ornate borders surrounding them. This tough to find issue was produced by a Canton, Ohio knife company, notated in the lower right-hand corner just below the player image, and includes most of the biggest stars of the day, including Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Tris Speaker and Eddie Collins. Red Dooin was a star catcher for the Philadelphia National League club during the 1900s-1910s. Unused postcard back exhibits paper loss on back at center, this accounting for the technical grade of 1.5 Fair with the player image on front exhibiting far superior eye appeal as compared to the technical grade. This example is one of only six examples ever graded by SGC with only three others ever graded higher.
