6.5x6.5x5" tall felt beanie w/two oilcloth panels featuring full body Superman image and comic book title/logo. Beanie features felt piping and has dual celluloid propeller blades, larger at bottom w/smaller at top held in place by small blue celluloid disc (we have seen another that featured a red star disc) w/star. ©1948 Nat'l Comics Pub., Inc. Felt portions of beanie remains bright and clean w/a few minor scattered spots of insect damage while oilcloth panels have evenly aged and shows some lt. scattered wear. Large bottom propeller is missing one blade, having cracked off. Top smaller propeller shows minor edge wear. VG/Fine overall. A very rare and desirable Superman item, one of only a few known examples and just the second we've offered in our 58 years (the other was complete and sold for $3,000 in 2015).
