Item Description
11x16-3/8" artboard features pen and ink original art for page 3 of Star Wars #76, published by Marvel Oct. 1983. Art is by Ron Frenz w/inks by Tom Palmer (1941-2022). Page features seven panels, showing Darth Vader taking his Imperial forces to task before being confronted by the droid KXPX, who brings Vader news of the Rebel forces. Art comes w/acetate sheet that has printed screentone accents w/hand-done shading for KXPX. Top of this sheet has strip of masking tape w/"Star Wars #76 - Pg. 3 - 100% Blue" printer notation. Label at lower left has handwritten "100% Blue Surprint" notation. Top margin of artboard has inked title and issue/page numbers. Additional handwritten "100% Blue Surprint" in black grease pencil along lower right margin. Back has Marvel copyright inkstamp. Right corners have been clipped, but neither affect art, which remains clean and Exc.
