This is the first Orphan Annie Shake-Up Mug, introduced in 1931 and featuring Annie showing Sandy how to use the mug. Lid has hairline crack at right and mug has 1-3/8" hairline crack to left of decal, which shows wear w/scattered flakes. Mug is VG. Display notes "Free This Week Only!" and has attached coupon pad (w/1933 expiration date) for mail-in offer to receive premium mug; the 1931 version as the second version wasn't produced until 1935). Diagonal strips of tape staining at each corner w/scattered edge wear and thin .5" surface paper repiar between coupon pad and mug window. Back of displays has extensive glue staining w/cardboard remnants and surface paper pull. Fine overall. Comes w/1938 brown version of mug w/Annie and Sandy jumprope scene. Stresslines to lid and both mugs just come along. This is the only Orphan Annie Shake-Up Mug display or signage of any type that we have offered in our 58 years. An absolute must-have for Little Orphan Annie collectors.
