11x14" matted production cel featuring Kitty Pryde and Magneto for the "Magneto Captures Scorpio Comet" sequence from the pilot episode. Titled "Pryde Of The X-Men," it originally aired Sept. 16, 1989 and was intended to launch the new Stan Lee series. However, it never materialized, and Marvel Productions would have to go back to the drawing board for 1992's X-Men animated series. In this scene at the 5:52 mark, Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler have stopped Magneto's plan. The character images are hand-painted on a two cel setup, paired w/matching print bkg. The setup bears a Marvel seal at bottom right and has a Stabur Corporation sticker on back under shrinkwrap. Original shrinkwrap in torn off on one end. Matted to 7.5x9.5" Lt. aging.
