Item Description
9.5x10.5" animation production cel featuring The White Queen for the "The White Queen rescues Magneto" opening sequence from the pilot episode. Titled "Pryde Of The X-Men," it originally aired Sept. 16, 1989 and was intended to launch the new Stan Lee series. However, it never materialized, and Marvel Productions would have to go back to the drawing board for 1992's X-Men animated series. In this scene around the 2:45 mark, The White Queen is using her powers to stop the military convoy transporting a captured Magneto. The character image are hand-painted on a cel w/thin vellum backing sheet, paired w/matching original pencils on a punched paper sheet. Notations in red pencil on sheet. Matching numbers on both A18. Cel and pencils are in Fine condition. Gary and Dawn Guzzo Collection.
