Item Description
2-3/8x2-7/8. Referred to as the Goudey Heads-Up set, this issue begins numbering (#241) where the 1933 Goudey set left off. On the card fronts, a photo is used for the player’s head while the body is a cartoon drawing. Bio/stat backs. Feller spent his entire MLB career w/the Cleveland Indians as their ace pitcher from 1936-56. “Rapid Robert” finished w/a career record of 266-162 along w/an impressive 3.25 ERA and 2,581 strikeouts. An eight-time all-star, pitching Triple Crown winner and a World Series champion in 1948. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962. Many collectors consider this one to be Feller’s rookie card as few earlier issues picturing Feller are not traditional card size.
