Item Description
2-3/8x2-7/8. 96 card set featuring color art reproductions of player photographs. Card fronts have two different designs, one contains a portrait photo of Lou Gehrig while the other features Check Klein.Bio backs. Hank began his MLB career w/the Detroit Tigers, playing one game in 1930 before joining the ball club permanently in 1933 and spending the next 11 seasons there (sandwiched around military service during 1942-44) and finally finishing up his career w/one season for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He posted a career batting average of .313 along w/331 home runs, 1,274 RBI’s, 1,046 runs scored and a career OPS of 1.017. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1956. This is a key rookie card of one of baseball’s inner-circle HOFers.
