Item Description
3-3/8x5-3/8”. The Exhibit Supply Company of Chicago issued the first in a long series of postcard-size baseball cards in 1921. These Exhibit cards were commonly sold in penny arcade vending machines. Set consists of 64 cards and includes four players from each of the 16 Major League teams. Backs are blank. Alexander began his MLB career w/the Philadelphia Phillies in 1911, fashioning one of the greatest rookie seasons in MLB history, posting league leading totals of 28 victories and seven shutouts to go along w/a stingy 2.57 ERA and 227 strikeouts. He would remain w/Philadelphia through the 1917 season, exceeding 20 wins every year except for 1912 when he totaled 19. Grover also had an unprecedented streak of three consecutive 30 win seasons from 1915-17. Inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1938.
