Item Description
Baron Von Redberry was a short-lived General Mills cereal, as was its counterpart, Sir Grapefellow. Introduced in 1972, the World War I flying ace-inspired cereals continued General Mills' rivalry branding, w/the two being paired as obvious adversaries. Both were discontinued in 1975 as they were outsold by the General Mills Monsters cereals. Offered here is a rare complete and assembled empty box, measuring 6.7x9.5x2". Front of box features inset box advertising "Diving Sub & Frogman!" premium that was issued as box inserts. Side panel advertises Sir Grapefellow, showing cereal box as well as mentioning "Magic Blow Pipe And Ball" premium in boxes of Sir Grapefellow. Back of box features three-quarter panel devoted to premium, noting they were issued in three colors. Side panel has assembly instructions. Box has some trace wear but is Exc. overall. Display example from the archives. Rare. Comes w/factory-sealed examples of the premium (yellow), which remains unused and Mint. Also comes w/three internal printed sheets related to the development of this premium, including one w/illustrations that have been hand-colored. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold.
