Item Description
Lot of three by Whitehead & Hoag, all done w/foil beneath the celluloid on the interior of the button and this expensive process was known as Crystoglas. It was used on only a very few buttons around the 1915 era. All have W&H back paper. First in this lot is the most impressive, large 2" for "Los Angeles County Of Fruit And Flowers." Shows poppies, poinsettia, leaves and an orange. The back paper for this one notes it is "Crystoglas." Next two are each .75" for "Neal Of The Navy" Pathe movie serial, now considered a lost film. One features a flag and the other a warship. Both are Ex-Hake Collection and the flag one is the plate example from Collectible Pin-Back Buttons Book. Both come w/Hake's COA. Each w/lt. trace of wear only seen upon close inspection. All remain bright and glossy. All are rare, we've offered few examples over our 58 years, and never as a group like this.
