Item Description
9-1/8x12" display board has 5-5/8x5-5/8" thin artboard affixed w/clear plastic corner mounts. Artboard features pen and ink original art w/image within 3" dia. circle w/hand-lettered squadron name at bottom. Art depicts the insignia of the 370th Bombardment Squadron, a lightning bolt crossing a falling bomb. First activated in April 1942, the squadron deployed to the Pacific, serving mainly in the Southwest Pacific Theater during World War II. Following V-J Day, it returned to the US for inactivation. Art has handwritten "Blue And Yellow" color notation at upper right and upper left has pasted colored stat of how the finished button would look. Small spot of staining at right, but o/w art remains clean and Exc. Comes w/example of the pin. Historic and one-of-a-kind piece for the Pep Pin and Militaria collector.
