Item Description
6.5x13x1.75". Early 1940s. Lid text explains "Pressure Propelled Fighter Plane/It Loops-Dives-Glides-Spins." Box side continues "America's Thrill Plane For Kids From Six To Sixty." Manufactured by Chicago Toy Co. Extensive instructions appear on box bottom. 1.5x2.5" applied label on top reads "War Wrapped." Likely a wrapping paper saving solution to gift giving during the war. Box stained/moderate dust soiling. VG. Cardboard/paper plane functions when launched by two-piece cardboard cylinder acting as plunger mechanism. Additional instruction sheet explains how to change plane's action. Instruction sheet aged. VG. Plane and parts Fine. Interesting concept. First we've seen. From the Tomart Archives and comes with COA signed by Tom Tumbusch & Ted Hake.
